The Bing chat feature has been a hot topic recently and the Bing team has been working hard to improve the product based on the valuable feedback received from the preview testers. In response to long and intricate chat sessions that confused the underlying model, the team implemented limits of 5 chat turns per session and a total of 50 per day, which caused some users to request the return of longer chats for more effective searches and better interaction with the chat feature.
To address these concerns, the Bing team has increased the chat turns per session to 6 and expanded to 60 total chats per day, with plans to increase the daily cap to 100 total chats soon. Additionally, normal searches will no longer count against chat totals. The team is also testing an additional option that lets users choose the tone of the chat from more precise to more creative, giving users more control over the type of chat behavior that best meets their needs.
This Bing Chat update seems like a positive step towards improving the user experience by listening to feedback and making changes accordingly. The increased chat turn limits and more control over chat behavior should help users search more effectively and interact with the chat feature better. It's great to see Bing taking a proactive approach to continuously improving their product.
